Words On a Page

Sadness, longing, heartache, despair, loneliness,

Will these feelings never end?

They come and go like the tide,

Gently crashing on the beach, hypnotizing my thoughts,

Before violently assaulting the beach,

Dragging the sand back to the depths of the ocean with each pass.

Eyes closed, breathe deep,

Feel the ocean breeze across your face,

Feel the waves crash against your legs,

The gentleness relaxes your most deep of thoughts,

Accept the assault on your body,

When the waves violently come,

Accept the feel of the sand being drug back into the ocean.

Eyes closed, breathe deep,

Your heart belongs to the sea,

It's like a calling inside your soul,

One that seems to haunt your dreams,

This is where you belong,

This is where you feel at peace,

This is where you feel accepted and no longer alone.

Sadness, longing, heartache, despair, loneliness,

The feelings seem to all but disappear with each crashing wave,

Eyes closed, breathe deep,

Feel the ocean breeze across your face,

The gentleness of it calms your mind and soothes your soul,

While your heartbeat slows.

The sea is where your heart belongs,

Where your heart longs to be,

The place where your soul finds rest,

The place that you can call home,

The sea is where you're meant to be,

Where you can finally be free.
